• Mama Lycha Grated Hard Cheese (2 cups)
• 3 eggs (yolks and whites separated)
• 1½ cups sugar
• 2 cups sifted flour
• 2 cups whole milk
• 1 cup vegetable oil
• Sesame seeds (for sprinkling)
Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
In a separate bowl, beat the egg yolks with sugar until pale and creamy.
Add the sifted flour, whole milk, and vegetable oil to the yolk mixture, mixing well.
Stir in the Mama Lycha grated hard cheese until fully combined.
Gently fold in the beaten egg whites to keep the batter airy.
Grease a baking pan, pour in the batter, and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
Bake for about 45 minutes or until golden and fully cooked. Let cool before serving.
Enjoy it with hot coffee or chocolate, just like in Salvadoran homes.
